Video Marketing Strategy For Your Small Business

As the owner of PA Productions, a video production agency in Denver, the most common question I get when people inquire about video projects is, “How much is it going to cost?”

I always respond that it’s a little bit like asking how much is a house? The cost of a house depends on so many variables, and so SHOULD a comprehensive video marketing strategy.

How Much Does a Corporate Video Cost?

When I meet with a client to discuss a corporate video strategy, I’m looking for information. I ask a lot of questions about the business, its fundamental drivers, its pain points, its growth plan, and goals because as a video strategist, and not just a videographer, I am looking into not only what content we need to create (and what it takes to create it), but also at the marketing strategy to put the content to work.

Can You Provide a Price Range For a Project?

The answer is, “Yes, maybe.” In reality, without having all of the information that I get from my discovery meeting, it’s hard for me to determine how video marketing can help your business and how much it will cost to get it done.

There is even a range within some of the video assets I prescribe because the variables involve location, how many people are being interviewed, how much B-Roll is required to tell the story, and how many shoots/cameras/videographers/ graphics/editors/etc. are needed to produce the video asset or assets.

So when people send me an email or call me and ask how much I charge for my services, I can give a range from $4,500 to $80,000, which, like looking for a house, is not very helpful until you sit with the potential buyer and figure out exactly what they’re looking for.

A Qualified Corporate Video Company Has a Process

My process for meeting clients through the implementation stage of their project distinguishes my video business from a videographer.

If you are meeting with someone to discuss a video project, and they aren’t asking YOU questions and don’t have a Strategy Plan or Process, you should be concerned that the product you end up with will be just that. A product, and not a Video Asset that works FOR you and your business.
